A popular sushi and sashimi destination in Hong Kong’s glitzy Lan Kwai Fong district, Sushi Kuu’s picked the venerable Palais Renaissance for the site of their first overseas expansion – a 70-seater (20 at sushi counter) with the same cool chic ambience as the original.
Prices aren’t exactly cheap: their set lunches can set you back anywhere between $30 and $70, from extravagances like the wagyu beef on rice ($50) and toro and green onion on sushi rice ($60) to humbler choices such as the rice with deep fried black pork chop ($32).
At dinner, the à la carte menu contains HK favourites of seafood onsen egg ($25), broiled salmon lettuce wrap ($20) and the grilled wagyu ox-tongue ($55) – if you’re in the mood to splurge, the chef’s seven-course omakase menu ($150) or the Kuu House Roll ($100/four pieces), a deluxe sushi roll topped with uni, salmon roe, caviar and toro, could be your ticket.
