The third branch of a Middle Eastern chain of restaurants (the first two being in Dubai and Abu Dhabi), Anar is just as extravagant as its predecessors. We’re not just talking about the use of handmade, Iran-imported tiles, cutlery, intricately carved chairs, or the massive chandelier imported from Dubai hanging in the knights-of-the-round-table-like private dining room. Dishes like the Anar Special Couscous Royal derived from the Moroccan Sahara and the Persian chelow kebab kubide (a minced lamb kebab from Iran’s Zagros Mountains) make up the menu, along with traditional Iranian and Arabian desserts, 500-year-old Lebanese recipes and the falodeh shirazi (an Iranian-style noodle served with rosewater and lemon juice, made with a machine specially crafted for Anar).
