The next time you’re in the Tiong Bahru area and looking for something other than zi-char, this place fits the bill nicely. The café is an offshoot of the cooking and baking school next door, so there are lots of cookies and cakes (the cheesecakes are yum, while the chocolate cupcakes are to be avoided) to go with the mainly Asian and Western menu. The low-calorie laksa is surprisingly good, while the chicken-and-sausage baked rice is pure comfort food. The chicken tempeh isn’t great – it’s dry and a little bland. Instead, stick to the chicken salad, a huge serving of leaves, egg, croutons, tomato and sunny raisins.
