Perusing the menu of this attic-like eatery, you could be forgiven for thinking it’s having an identity crisis. Its menu is an eclectic affair, with entrées ranging from cheese nachos to garlic- and pesto-encrusted escargots. Mains leap from pizzas to tender beef cheeks slow-roasted in a rich red-wine reduction and tender to the last melting morsel, and, aptly, angel hair pasta with crispy tempura king prawns.
Don’t let the random mélange throw you, because whether you’re after casual drinks, or a special dinner for two, this lofty space can deliver. The wait-staff are fast on their feet, and at weekends the covers bands’ passionate renditions will have you worshipping in the aisles. Marc Checkley
