The plain-Jane interiors are almost incidental to the small menu of superbly executed Peranakan standards. There’s squid braised with tomatoes and thick green chilli cuts; a deliciously nutty satay pork and gently braised chap chye. The chicken buah keluak is superb – the sauce is a rich, shimmering pool stained midnight black by the ubiquitous nut. Also try the itek tim, a duck soup swirling with tartness and sweetness. Reasonable prices coupled with no service charges or GST make this one of our favourite dining destinations.

The food is fantastic. The deco is non existent. Perhaps that is a good thing so that the food is the central focus. Perhaps that is what the chef intended. With food so good, it would be an insult to the chef not to give the food your 100% attention. But just heard that it is closing down in April!!! :( So go try the food before it closes down. I just hope they are planning to open up the restaurant again at another location.
