The food is phenomenal and not expensive. Try the scrambled eggs, mixed with spinach and cheese.
The sausages are good, bacon is great...bread is very good and the home made jam is beautiful. Coffee is not the best but still very good. Service is on the whole fine..for Singapore it is above standard and certainly not deserved of the comments here.
I actually find them extremely personable. The food never takes that long to come and especially considering how busy it gets. All restaurants can see delays at their busiest times, but I have never had a problem here.
This is hands down the best breakfast, especially for the money, in Singapore. Keep it up and I shall keep on coming.

I was there this morning, and was having a pretty decent breakfast, when the owner (the lady on their poster in the tank top) came in after talking to a customer outside. She then declared, in a not-so-low voice, that the customer outside was a "b*tch". The other waiters were also whiners, and they talked smack about the customers while we were there to hear it. The "ok" food is not worth all the bad energy. Go somewhere else.

When I called to make an inquiry about breakfast a member of the staff sounded rude and asked me to go take a look at their website cos she was very busy! Their website does not even offer a full menu. With such poor attitude, why would anyone even bother going?

should be a goldmine in that location but slow, rude service and average food = don't bother. IF you want a good breakfast on the weekend then Jones the Grocer @ Meritas gets my vote

I visited the outlet at Rail Mall just this morning and it was the worst dining experience I have ever had, sad to say. The food took more than half an hour to arrive, service was shabby (they were severely understaffed, the waiters were nonchalant and obviously untrained) and above all, the food was bad. (1) The green eggs with ham was too salty, soggy and overcooked (2) the sweet, sour and spicy pasta with half a crayfish was terribly fishy and it wasn't hot when it arrived (3) the salmon and brie sandwich came with pale and tired looking salmon. It looked at though the sandwiches were assembled by a 10 year old. In addition, the decor of the place left much to be desired: Used tissues, table wiping cloths, disinfecting cleaning bottles were left on the bar counter for all to see. The good thing about this place is probably that iced water was free. But oh, it comes in used vodka / wine glass bottles (kudos to recycling) with the price tag still on, if you'd like to know. To be honest, I will never visit this place ever again. Waiting 30 min for lousy (and not to mention, overpriced) food is just not my cup of tea. (We headed for Ah Mei kopitiam down the road for hot, proper food after that). Looking at neighbouring tables of customers who were all asking about their orders and looking none too pleased, it looked like my family and I weren't not the only ones feeling the same way about Epicurious. Voted best breakfast by TimeOut magazine, really? They got to be kidding big time.

Like many others here, I think Epicurious is a tad over-rated. Food was good especially the spaghetti with prawns in miso-cream, service was ok (we got to sit there for as long as we liked), but ambiance was only so-so. Coffee (i.e., mocha, iced coffee) was TERRIBLE though (no where like Aust & NZ) and super expensive!!!! And indeed everything took a bit too long to arrive. Best breakfast in SG? No way. A good cuppa is a must to even be in the running for that title, and Epicurious doesn't deliver

The service here makes Gordon Ramsay look like the epitome of courtesy. We rocked up and they said, oh you can have a table outside if you want, but it's going to rain. Maybe you would be better suited somewhere else? And I quote! We walked back an hour later after a very nice breakfast at Kith. Tables were still free and it didn't rain. You suck!

Food was ok, service was poor enough to make me never want to go back.

How this place can rank as anyone's favourite breakfast place is truly mind-boggling. Sit inside only if you enjoy having flies - yes flies - hover around your food, courtesy of the alarmingly unkempt kitchen. Eat here only if you take pleasure from paying nearly $12 for a sandwich with TWO measly slices of chorizo hidden under bread with concrete properties. Delight in being served by staff with even fewer smiles than a coffeeshop beer auntie.

Worst service, bad food and then on top of it I was asked to vacate the table soon while eating. DO NOT GO!

I am always amazed when people tell me that Epicurious is their favourite place for breakfast in Singapore. The food (and often the coffee as well) takes far too long to arrive and there is virtually no ambience to the place. I live close to Epicurious but even so I find eM and the newly opened Boomerang far better options in the vicinity.

Despite boasting a seemingly chaotic table arrangement and a bizarre collection of "antique" kitchenware, Epicurious remains the source of my favourite eggs benedict in Singapore. Besides, where else would a waiter casually amble up to your table whislt you sip your cappucino and read your Sunday paper, only to offer you a free (and fabulously delicious) banana muffin? Don't mind if I do!
