If you’ve been shedding tears into your rösti since Marché packed up its stalls at the Heeren last May, loosen up your lederhosen because the Swiss Miss is back in town. Though the VivoCity location is new, Marché doesn’t veer from the tried and tested formula that’s seen it through 72 other outlets around the world: clusters of cooking stations serving salads, thick soups, handmade pastas, and rotisserie chicken and meats grilled on applewood-fed flames. New to the line-up: a bakery turning out traditional Swiss breads and tarts and a paella station (using Valencian rice, the way it should be). All this in a faux Swiss chalet setting complete with a vintage cable car for the children to fool around in when they’re not lounging on their Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs. The only thing missing is a troop of cute ski instructors. #03-14 VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk (6376 8226). Sun-Thu 10am-11pm; Fri & Sat 10am-midnight.

Dear OMG, Please accept our apologies for the technical hiccup with our credit card payment system during your visit to Marché and the subsequent misunderstanding. I understand that our General Manager has spoken with you to resolve the matter and hope we will have the chance to welcome you to Marché again. Wendy – Marché Customer Service

Dear Isaac, Thanks for your feedback and apologies for your experience. We aim to seat all guests as soon as there is table available matching the number of guests in their party. Sometimes this means we may seat others while we are waiting for your table to become available. Thanks again for your feedback and we will endeavour to explain our seating procedure to our guests to avoid future misunderstanding. Wendy – Marché Customer Service

Service is crap. Waiting time long while others who came before us were seated. Probably due to the fact that we didnt look well off enough compared to the rest of the people walking in and we were continuosly passed over for a table 4 times. Twice i would understand but as a paying customer, 4 times is just a bit too rude for my liking. Not going to the one at 313 somerset anymore and if anyone who has the right frame of mind would give that place a miss.

Customers were not informed that their card machine broke down for 2 days and all had to pay by cash after the meal. We did not carry enough cash and were treated like criminals. The manager demanded to make a copy of our IDs even though we were fine for them to verify details. We explained potential of security lapse but was treated rudely and told we can't leave their restaurant without leaving a printed copy of ID. Shocking!

The ambience is nice, but the range of food and how good it tastes are nowhere close to the old Orchard branch. Too expensive for what it has.

Went to the Heeren branch before it went down; the experience made me want to revisit the re-born branch in Vivocity. Much as the atmosphere is good for small groups of friends, larger groups of friends or families had to queue much longer due to the layout. Morever, when my friend brought out her remaining birthday cake to share with our friends after meal, she got "fined" 5 dollars a piece in the receipt! All in all, good place for fine dining, but beware of the hidden rules and costs~
