Time Out says

Chope a table at Melt

While the ‘melting pot’ trend – the fusing of distinctive cuisines – became overwhelmingly popular in the ’90s, restaurants started to realise this was leading to confusion. Luckily for us, they have taken on more of a ‘salad bowl’ approach here. Each country is represented by separate bowls, some filled with Thai seafood green curry, others overflowing with fish tikka; platters of fresh sashimi are just around the corner from the station, which features a board covered in fine French cheeses. If forced to stick with one section of this buffet for the night, we would skip the trip around the world and dive under the sea. The raw bar is covered in freshly shucked oysters, tender tiger prawns and succulent lobster claws waiting to be cracked. Leave room to sample the vanilla panna cotta topped with raspberry coulis, and the white chocolate mousse and green apple sauce, which both required second helpings.

Dinner buffet $65++.
