Bubble tea just got better: a light, fizzy, pink lychee base with hints of rose is the liquid backdrop to balls of lychee juice that ooze when pierced. This drink is available at Perkies – a fast-food stall at Changi City Point that uses fresh ingredients and non-hydrogenated, trans-fat-free sunflower oil to fry up batters for its finger-sized corn puppies (small corn dogs), Thai-style fried battered chicken bites and onion rings. The cooking oil is also recycled into clean, renewable and sustainable bio-diesel for re-use. While all of that is good and nummy, we still can’t get the brilliant lychee balls out of our minds – why didn’t we think of that?
