Talk about a work in progress: it’s always fun to eat at Whitebait & Kale as it’s often filled with people who’ve just been upstairs at one of the plastic surgeries for a nip/tuck. The usually reliable menu plays it safe with the likes of rather good fish ’n’ chips; thick, perfectly done crab cakes; pavlova heaped with cream and wild berries; and rich Wagyu bolognese. There were some misses at a recent visit – among them a very watery snapper pie, and slightly overdone calamari and tabbouleh salad – but a patronage straight out of the society pages made for highly entertaining people-watching.

A return visit to Whitebait & Kale after a year and the week after Flutes: the food is fantastic at W&K at the moment - grilled calamari starter, seafood tagine and lamb were the most delicious food that we have tasted in Singapore for months. The lamb was noticeably better than at Flutes.

Benn to this place a few time and the food is great! But of late, the service seems to be rushed to the point that we were asked what we wanted for deserts while we were still waiting for fries that came after we finished our mains.. a little dissapointing for the $ you pay.. :(
