Best for: Letterpress flat cards

Elephant and Coral

There are dozens of colours, motifs and textures to choose from at Elephant and Coral, which uses 100% cottonseed-derived paper from US stationer Crane’s (above). Their designers will gladly help you create the perfect card to celebrate a birth, wedding or anniversary or mark just about any other occasion you can think of. They’ll also make you an engraved plate that can be used over and over, reducing the cost of subsequent orders of engraved stationery. Allow four to five weeks for delivery. inTouch Stationery

Best for: Fans of Asian styles

When an email just won’t do, inTouch Stationery gives you the option of using high-quality, personalised stationery at a reasonable price ($3-$8 per card with envelope). Founded 10 years ago, inTouch’s personalised service means you’re sure to get the perfect stationery. All cards are printed in Singapore using offset or digital printing. There’s also a range of charming, high-quality, ready-made cards for all occasions and even a children’s range. For cards with an Asian touch – think Kingfisher or golden-orchid designs – inTouch cards come in packets of eight, either with one design or a mixture, and are priced at $16. Stuck on You

Stuck on You is a web-based business that personalises schoolbooks, notepads and other items. They also make name stickers suitable for display on everything from pencils to water bottles. The designs are so colourful and fun that you may also end up buying for yourself. All Stuck on You notepads are A5 size and include 30 matching envelope stickers. Paper Market

Best for: Hobbyists
Cost: From $250

If you want to take personalised stationery to a whole new level, Paper Market can help you make your own cards. They sell everything you need to produce your own specially designed invitation or letterhead – from embossing and letterpress tools to mix-and-match cards with envelopes and coordinated Readymade Suites. If your creative juices aren’t flowing, they also offer a Bespoke Paperstyling Service that pulls all the needed items together for you, and in-store Paperstyling parties that allow your friends and family to benefit from expert instruction.
