Charmant Seah
The rebel, 21
I work part-time at The Plain café in Tanjong Pagar.
Ny style is rebellious. I’ve been colouring my hair since 17 and I have had it in copper, pink, blonde and purple. This one I have now is pink and red with a tinge of orange, which I got done by Addes Foo at Peridot Salon (#05-85 Far East Plaza; 9850 4780).
My parents have no complaints about my hair –
I have four tattoos, so crazy hair is nothing.
My friends say the colours are really loud and
attention grabbing, which suits my personality.
My favorite labels are Zara and Topshop.
My favorite places to shop for skirts are GAP
Kids, Cotton On Kids and Gingersnap (www.
gingersnapskids.com) – kids clothes fit me better.

The casual dresser, 25
I am a fresh marketing graduate from Curtin University.
Ny style is casual. I normally like to wear a
good pair of comfy jeans or shorts.
I am wearing a tank top from Bysi, denim shirt from
H&M ($39.90), my mum’s Marc Jacobs shorts, shoes by
HUOYI from Shanghai, necklace from Phuket, and a
Nica Bowie Cross Body Bag I got online at Asos ($70).
My favorite places to shop are Topshop, H&M,
Zara and Forever 21. I sometimes pick out things to
wear from my boyfriend’s and mum’s wardrobes.
If I had $1,500 I’d go back to this vintage
shop in Brisbane called Sunday Social.
I regret wearing a deep V bareback short black
dress and heels to my prom night. I felt very restricted.
Jason Wong Jia Sheng
The hipster, 28
I work as a sales and marketing executive at Bodhi
Fabrics, an interior textile company.
I am wearing a singlet from Topman’s discount rack
($10), sandals (US$40; S$50) from Urban Outfitters,
hat ($17) from GAP in Japan, and Rayban Clubmaster
glasses ($200) from Soon Lee Optical (#01-08 Sim
Lim Tower, 10 Jln Besar; 6294 2922).
My favorite labels are Prada and Marc Jacobs.
My favorite accessories are these real leather
wrist and friendship bands from Japan ($10-$15).
I won't be caught dead wearing anything
from New Urban Male.
My favorite places to shop is Topman (#B3-02
ION, 2 Orchard Turn; 6509 8567).
Kenneth Loe
The bargain hunter, 22
I work as a sales assistant at the new
Lomography Gallery Store in Chinatown.
Ny style is dirt cheap.
I am wearing a jacket I bought at a flea market in
Kuala Lumpur for $5. I’m drawn to prints – it could be
from the ’80s or inspired by the safari.
My favorite places to shop is Something Old,
Something New (Simei Care Centre, 10 Simei St 3;
6781 8113), New 2U (Singapore Council of Women’s
Organisations, 96 Waterloo St; 6837 0611) and the
Salvation Army’s Upper Serangoon Family Thrift
Store (309 Upper Serangoon Rd; 6288 5438).
If I had $1,500 I’d buy a Rolleiflex camera.
I won't be caught dead in tartan.
Shennaz Salim
The preppy type, 18
I am a mass communications student at
Singapore Media Academy.
Ny style is classic preppy.
I am wearing a dress I bought from New Look two
months ago for less than $50 and a scarf from Paris.
I'd suffer for fashion and wear long sleeves because it makes me look a lot prettier. I can take the heat.
My fashion statement in two words: colour-block.
I like matching mustard with green and maroon with
blue. On happier days my colours get louder.
My favorite places to shop include local brand
Sixties Inspired Design Studio (#B1-43 Citylink Mall, 1 Raffles Link; 6238 1128) for their loud prints and conservative long skirts.
