Located in the sub-zero bowels of The Heeren, HMV has been the queen bee of local music retailers since Tower Records closed its last outlet at Suntec City in 2006. It boasts an impressive selection of music and videos, as well as books, magazines and video games. Nonetheless, this isn’t exactly the place to rediscover your favourite auteur’s Criterion Collection DVD – though you may get a nice (but unlikely) surprise. Vinyl lovers: expect mostly dance records and slightly scary prices. Classical/jazz lovers get to browse in a separate glass room that segregates them from the sweaty American Idol-watching masses.
