Named after one of the best tennis players of the twentieth century, the Fred Perry clothing label is enjoying a revival of sorts. Inside the store on Ann Siang Road, you’ll find everything except its Comme des Garçons collaborative line. While the label’s polo shirts have long been considered a wardrobe staple, the question is why they became so popular in the first place. The answer lies in its signature laurel logo – based on the Wimbledon symbol – which is stitched rather than ironed on; after all, beauty is in the small details. And, of course, its tennis gear is matchless.
