Antiquation and innovation are combined with a luxurious touch through traditional manual craftsmanship at this shop-cum-showroom. Second-generation English-born antiques dealer Timothy Oulton makes sure the item’s painstaking workmanship is displayed well in his first Singapore outlet: the Kensington three-seater sofa is put together with 1,700 nails (all hidden and well knocked in, don’t worry) and sits among a collection of reproduction art including maps, landscapes, architectural drawings and botanicals printed, using traditional techniques, on archival paper. The eco-conscious will be heartened to know that Oulton uses timber salvaged from distilleries, mills, English manors and Chinese junks for his furniture, and works the imperfections into the products.
Sofas $3,000-$6,000; lights $2,550; trunks $1,395
