When did you start the website?
'In October 2011 – I found there was a tremendous desire for all kinds of beauty and skincare brands and products, many of which weren’t available in Singapore. But rather than following a traditional retail model I decided to create a more informative online platform designed for busy yet discerning shoppers.'

You own Luxola, what's your background?
'I'm from Boulder, Colorado and Luxola.com is my second startup in Singapore. I've lived here for four years now and a good majority of the brands we carry are from North America and exclusive to Luxola.com for the Singapore market: Deborah Lippmann, FACE Atelier, Julie Hewett, Sleek MakeUp, Grooming Lounge (for Men).'

What makes you different from other beauty e-commerce sites?
'Luxola.com is backed 100 per cent by every brand that we are associated with. We carry a selection of the most exciting international cosmetic and skin care brands and deliver them for free on the next business day.'

What are your five top sellers?
'Sleek MakeUp Blush ($14), Mario Badescu Silver Powder ($33), FACE Atelier Ultra Foundation ($80), BECCA Cosmetics Beach Tint ($35) and Deborah Lippmann nail lacquer ($33).'
