Canon HF10
Canon may have entered the game a bit late when it comes to flashbased camcorders, but they got it right with this model. It’s dressed in sleek black, weighs 428g with an SD card and battery slot, and is still compact enough to fit inside a large jacket pocket. Thankfully, the controls haven’t shrunk, and remain easy to operate. There is a 16GB built-in flash memory and a slot for SDHC removable flash, giving six hours and five minutes of video at the lowest bit rate. The lens takes sharp images, is capable of fast-focusing and the optical stabilisation is particularly great, especially with the unusually long 12x zoom.
$2,299.
Lenovo
ThinkVision monitors Lenovo’s latest range of ThinkVision monitors boasts the EPEAT Gold qualification; in layman’s terms, it is the most energy-efficient monitor you can currently obtain. Plus, it’s lead- and mercury-free. Performance-wise, it does everything you’d expect of a monitor unless, of course, you’re a graphic artist. The monitors are also more costly than other 17- and 19-inch versions – no one ever said being green was going to be cheap.
$379 (L174), $429 (L197 Wide).
