www.glassbooth.org
Confused by all the candidates for the 2008 US presidential election? Struggling to tell the difference between the issues Obama and Clinton are touting? Glassbooth.org turns their policies into bite-size nuggets, and even helps you decide who to support; a quiz tests where you stand on the death penalty, the war in Iraq, immigration laws and so on. It then matches you to the candidate whose ideology most closely resembles yours. A hypothetical challenge that says nothing about how people really vote, this certainly isn’t one for political animals, but it’s perfect for the lazy and apathetic.

If healthy eating was a religion, Michael Pollan would be its grand mufti. A noted environmental journalist, Pollan has written articles for numerous magazines and books on everything from modern agriculture and meat practices to a man’s relationship between himself and nature. Known for his thoughtful, provocative and practical contemporary writing on food, his book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, attempts to make sense of the endless food choices available to Americans today. He gets past marketing slogans and dietary fads to decipher cryptic ingredients like sodium aluminium sulphate, and ask why they are in our food. Aside from links to important food sites, there are examples of his teachings and lengthy articles, which are an excellent summary of his philosophy and findings.
www.waitwear.com
This one is for staunch Christians: cool Tshirts advocating no sex before marriage. Before you sneer, check out the nifty slogans: ‘new millennium girl with vintage values’, ‘chaste couture’ and ‘generation pure’. The site has branched out to bags and coffee cups, but don’t expect them to come cheap. A T-shirt costs about $54, excluding shipping. Nobody told us that being chaste requires having a middle-class income.
