Fullerton Hotel

Built in 1928, the former General Post Office was transformed into an award-winning luxury hotel in 2001. The Palladian building is a striking landmark on the edge of the Singapore River; inside, the grand, soaring atrium makes the most of the unusual, wedge-shaped floorplan. The room aesthetics are cool, clean and serene; creams, beiges and browns, with dark wood furnishings and fresh flowers. All come with the latest gizmos and gadgets for staying connected. Request one of the Quay rooms, which have spectacular views over the river and colonial civic area. The splendid outdoor pool faces the same way; it’s almost like you’re swimming in the city. The slap-up buffet breakfast is one of the best in town, and classy cocktails are served in the fashionable Post Bar.
