You’re in Manila. You have 24 hours. But where to go, what to do, what to eat, and where to party? Marco ‘Mcoy’ Fundales, lead singer of Kenyo, shows us Manila’s hotspots

Your night out is…

…a gig. If we start early, probably around 6 or 7 pm, then we’ll reach the next gig at 11pm, and the last gig would be at 1am. We rush with all of the equipment. But it’s a fun thing to do because it’s what we love to do for different people.

In Makati, we play at the Hard Rock Café (Glorietta III, Makati City; Tel: (632) 893 4661, www.hardrock.com), but you would usually see us playing here in Eastwood City at Club Dredd (2nd Floor, Gweilos, Eastwood City; Tel: (632) 421 2283).

Grab late-night supper…

I’m very much into Japanese and Korean food. In Eastwood City I always go to Teriyaki Boy (Eastwood City Walk 1; Tel: (632) 912 1429) because the service is great and fast.

24 hours in Manila city are best spent…

…in Eastwood City, the Fort, Makati, and Ortigas. There are so many establishments that are open 24 hours a day where you can dine, drink and club.

See the 'real' Manila at…

…the Sampaloc area where the old houses are. To see the really old ancestral homes, go to New Manila or Greenhills. But to truly experience living in Manila, take the jeepney, the LRT, the MRT or the buses – especially the non-air-conditioned ones. It can be a crazy ride, but Manila is a very enjoyable place. And I’d personally love to invite you to come down here and see it!
