A stylish little hotel-hostel, perched atop Mount Emily Park, near the Istana. Rooms are basic, but clean and bright, with Ikea-style furniture; most are doubles, but a handful sleep three or more. The rooftop terrace is a bonus, with barbecue pit, ‘standing shower pool’ and loungers. Breakfast is served in the ground-floor dining area, which becomes the funky Wild Rocket restaurant at lunch and dinner. The Hangout is a short walk from Little India, but the steep steps make carrying luggage a no-no. Staff are friendly and obliging.
