W Singapore Sentosa Cove

The new W Hotel in Sentosa Cove, which has been the most hotly anticipated opening of the year, opens its doors on 16 September. The W Hotels in the likes of Hong Kong and Taipei have become genuinely hot destinations for locals, and it will be interesting to see if the Singapore version can lure people across to Sentosa Cove. Certainly, it’s pulling out all the stops – cocktail bar Woo Bar and chic steak grill Skirt sound promising, and they’ve hired Hasnor Sidik, who we picked as one of the city’s most stylish people, as artistic director, in charge of music, design and fashion. They’ve got their own W Insider to tell guests about the best of the city, and have released a video of hip locals giving tips on the city – from fashion designer Mae Pang to Zouk DJ Adrian Wee, Present Purpose creative director Tracy Philips and Ministry of Design director Colin Seah. If you want to stay, there are 240 funky rooms, a spa and large outdoor pool.
