Camden Medical Centre’s apothecary-like boutique now stocks knee and elbow guards by Green Yarn, an American company that creates environmentally friendly fabric. Before you roll your eyes, the Pharmaplus products are not made out of any regular eco-fabric. Instead they have been made anti-bacterial, come with 200-thread stitching, and contain nano-sized particles of bamboo charcoal. The combination not only helps to keep joints warm, but also prevents static build-up and improves blood circulation. Also available are Eco Fab organic cotton towels made from the same fabric as the guards, which are supposedly more durable and absorbent because no chemicals or pesticides were used in their production.
